The Ball Python projects continue to expand and we are currently pairing up some nice animals. We hope to produce a few quality morphs this season while we work with pinstripe, spider, pastel, ghost (hypo), fire, yellow belly, lesser, cinnamon, mojave, and a couple other combo genes. We'll see how it all shakes down for us this year!!

Chameleon Update

Lots of baby Panther Chameleons are hatching out. Two unrelated clutches have hatched out and are in their rearing tanks, eating like there's no tomorrow.

Panther Chameleon Pairing - Ambilobe

These two were paired up 9/25/08 and successful mating took place right away. A different female was placed in with the male at first, but she was not receptive to the males advances and she was promptly removed back to her cage. The second female was then placed in the cage and allowed the male to advance after a brief display. The male took some time to position himself properly as this was his first attempt at breeding, but he soon got the hang of it and copulation lasted for about 40 minutes.

Fingers crossed here, these are Phelsuma grandis grandis, the Madagascar Giant Day Gecko. This pair produced viable eggs in 2007, but the hatchlings either couldn't break the egg or were weak upon hatching. The diet was altered on the parents with increased supplimentation.

California Kingsnakes - 3/27/08

These are the first of the kingsnakes for this year. 8 good looking eggs laid 3/27/08. The pair is a banded phase black and white, although the male is more of a "chocolate" and white. This is the first year for both parents and the male is a second generation that I produced in 2004.
